Company’s History

In 2012, a group of faculty members of Tehran University of Medical Sciences decided to materialize many years of their research and hard effort on new therapies for a range of diseases. To this end, they put the establishment of a knowledge-based company into their agenda, aimed at manufacturing and supply of products and services based on their know-how. After several months of holding meetings and shaping their work team, they first obtained agreement of the university chancellor in 2013 and in summer 2014, Janus Pharma was incorporated and started its operation as a pharmaceutical, cosmetics and hygienic company. In 2014, the Technology Vice-president Office granted Janus Co. the Emerging Knowledge-based Award. In addition to meeting the medical needs of specialists for treatment of patients, Janus Pharma intends to introduce new formulations.

Company’s Departments

R&D and Quality Control Lab

The experts of this department are responsible for researching the company’s products, designing and creating new products based on the needs of the market or even beyond the market’s requirements, while taking into account the principle of distinction and innovation, notifying modifications, optimization of process, transfer of technologies and taking advantage of the same and… The company’s quality control lab includes the physicochemical, instrumental analytical chemistry and microbiology departments, which is responsible for research on methods of analysis, review and quality control of manufactured and semi-manufactured products.

Quality Assurance and Regulatory Unit

This unit is responsible for ensuring the establishment and maintenance of a well-ordered system and ensuring the integrity and purity of the product throughout the production process. In the same context, documenting all operations related to drug production, quality risk management, product liberalization process, non-compliance management and remedial measures, complaint redress and handling, product quality control at the supply level, obtaining the license to manufacture new products and renew and amend the manufacturing license of old products, obtaining licenses required for import of raw materials and registering their source are parts of the tasks of quality assurance and regulation unit.

Business unit

The experts of the business unit are tasked with several duties, the most important of which could be outlined as follows:

  • Control and supervise the company’s purchases within the framework of transaction rules and regulations
  • Contact with institutions, companies and factories in person and by phone in order to meet the needs of the company
  • Coordinate and cooperate with quality assurance management to improve product quality, compliance of contracts and related products with needs, observations and requirements
  • Procure materials, machinery and equipment required by the organization in coordination with managers
  • Envisage the process of opening credit, shipping and clearance of goods in order to schedule the goods ordering plan
  • Make necessary calculations to determine the currency required for purchase of foreign goods

Sales and Marketing Unit

The experts of this unit are responsible to introduce the products to the potential customers; they also try to facilitate and increase sales, analyze market and choose target markets, conclude business contracts, review niche markets by means of in-person and/or phone marketing and sales.

Financial Unit

A good command over individual and collective duties in every occupation is a key element for success in that business. Accounting is a critical profession, requiring precision, focus and accurate approach towards the organization’s objectives in order to guarantee success and profitability.

The main duties of accounting unit in Janus Company could be outlined as follows:

  • Review and control of documents
  • Compliance with the provisions of the Commercial Law, Direct Tax Law, Companies law and other applicable laws and regulations, including the procedure on how to prepare, write and keep books and documents.
  • Drawing up accounting documents and recording operations in the accounting journal
  • Drawing checks based on purchase records and vouchers according to the CEO’s order
  • Preparation monthly banking discrepancies (elimination of errors and possible discrepancies) according to common procedure
  • Monitoring the cash flows and the flow of goods through establishment of optimum accounting controls
  • Preparing the list of staff salary and benefits
  • Preparing statistics and financial data on the status and inventory of the warehouse and cash in cases determined by the CEO.
  • Cooperating with the company’s officials in taking the inventory and reconciliation of physical inventory with book inventory
  • Preparing final financial statements
  • Closing temporary accounts and preparing opening balance sheet
  • Archiving documents, papers, cards, and books for optimum use and maintenance
  • Referring to departments and institutions to discharge the financial tasks entrusted by the CEO
  • Handling any dispute between the company and the parties to contract with the company
  • Calculating and paying taxes, premiums and other legal fees
  • Defending the legal rights of the company against the tax department and commissions and other authorities
  • Cooperating with the CEO in setting up the desired internal control system
