Measurement of hydration
• Corneometer measures the stratum corneum hydration state
• This measurement is based on differences in dielectric constants of water and other substances where the capacitor would show the capacitance changes based on moisture content of samples measures
• During the measurement, there will be an electric scatter field penetrating the skin and the dielectricity will be determined
• Useful for evaluating moisturizers , cleansers and anti-aging products

Measurement of pigments
• Mexameter uses light reflection and absorption principles to quantify the melanin content and hemoglobin content (erythema) of the skin surface
• Useful for evaluating lighteners and anti- inflammatory preparations

Measurement of trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL)
• TEWAmeter measures trans-epidermal water loss using comparing the differences in humidity and temperature
• Useful for evaluating the superficial integrity of skin in diseases such as dermatitis, etc.
• Useful for evaluating moisturizers and cleansers

Measurement of pH
• pHmeter uses the principles of ion movement in determining the surface pH
• Useful for evaluating cleansers, shampoos and conditioners

Measurement of sebum
• Sebumeter uses photometry principles to measure surface lipid
• Useful for evaluating cleansers and anti- acne preparations

Measurement of desquamation
• VisioLine device has Corneofix which uses desquamated scales and digitally analyzes them under the microscope in conditions such as seborrhoeic dermatitis, other dermatitides, psoriasis and other desquamating pathologies
• Useful for anti- dandruff products, emollients and moisturizers

Measurement of friction coefficient
• Frictiometer is used to evaluate the skin surface friction and roughness
• Useful for evaluating moisturizers and emollients

Measurement of elasticity
• Cutometer is used to evaluate skin elasticity
• Useful for evaluating moisturizers, anti- aging and skin- firming products

Assessment of skin shininess
• Glossymeter measures skin shininess in conditions such as oily skin and skin vulnerable to acne or problems related to cosmetic products
• Useful for evaluating oil- free and anti- acne products

Assessment of skin color and its homogeneity
• VisioFace is used to objectify skin color and its homogeneity in a defined area and how they are affected by treatment
• Useful for evaluating lighteners, tanning (bronzing) products and anti-inflammatory preparations

Assessment of skin wrinkles, pores and spots
• VisioFace and VisioLine devices objectify skin wrinkles and their number, depth, volume, surface area and visibility and how they are affected by treatment
• Useful for evaluating anti- wrinkles, sunscreens, anti- oxidants, skin- firming products and fillers

Assessment of skin surface texture and roughness
• VisioFace and VisioLine devices objectify number and density of skin pores and determine skin surface roughness and how they are affected by treatment.
• Useful for evaluating emollients, moisturizers, anti- wrinkles and anti- acne products

Hair analysis
• Hair analyzer device is used to evaluate single hair or hair obtained from trichogram in terms of its thickness, oiliness, presence of dandruff, morphology and hair growth stage
• Useful for alopecia treatment products, anti- dandruff products and different shampoos and conditioners

Skin surface microscopy (Dermatoscopy)
• Dinolite digital dermatoscope is used to evaluate benign and malignant superficial skin lesions and hair morphology

Skin ultrasonography
• High frequency 22 and 50 MHz probes are used to generate high- resolution digital images used in the assessment and determination of skin thickness, skin appendages, collagen content, skin aging process and also in the diagnosis of various skin lesions
• Useful for evaluating skin tumours, anti- wrinkles, anti- oxidants and fillers

Patch test
• Used for evaluation of allergic and irritant contact dermatitis, especially in occupational cases and in evaluation of topical products
